New Hampshire Marble

Installation Information

Generally we encourage you to install the hardware onto the sink at the beginning. It is usually easier this way. Follow the instructions for installing the faucet and drain pipe. Be sure to use only silicone based products around the drain pipe, and do not over tighten. Once you have installed the hardware you are ready to install the vanity top to the vanity base. Place a small liquid nail on the 4 corners of the vanity base. Center your vanity top on the cabinet. The liquid nail will help to secure the top to the cabinet. Once the plumbing is hooked up, the sink should not move. After centering the top, you are ready to make your final plumbing connections.

Installing Panels

To intstall any flatstock dry fit the pieces first in case any last minute scribing needs to be done. Some small gaps will be covered by the inside corners and batten strips if your kit has them. Then simply place a heavy bead of silicone adhesive or panel adhesive onto the unfinished side of the product. (In the case of Onyx panels be sure to use a clear adhesive since a darker color may show through the panel!) Once you have placed the adhesive on the back of the panel place the panel against the wall and brace with a 2x4. Allow adhesive to set for the amount of time recommended on the tube.

When installing either a showerbase or a bathtub from New Hampshire Marble a small amount of quick dry cement should be used under the product to ensure that the product is properly supported and secured. Be careful not to rest showerbases on the threshold side of the base since cracking could occur. Also be careful not to put to much weight on an unsupported edge of a bathtub since cracking could also occur here. Make sure that tubs with jet systems installed on them are kept free of construction debris since this could possibly clog the intake/outlet jets, or damage the pump.

  • *CAUTION* When cutting or sanding cultured marble be sure to wear a dust mask and eye protection. To scribe any of our products, use a heavy grit sand paper and sand off the amount you do not need. If you need to remove more than a quarter of an inch, you may need to cut the product to save time.

  • Be sure to hand tighten and use only silicone based products around the drain of Cultured Marble products. The product will expand as it gets warm. If you over tighten the drain during the installation process it may lead to stress cracks.

  • Do not rest tools or tool boxes on the vanity top during the installation process. Sharp edges and dirt could damage the surface!.
  • When installing panels be careful not to put too much pressure on unsupported portions of the panel, cracking could occur.
  • Rocks lodged in shoes could cause unwanted damage to the product, so be sure to clean shoes or remove them before climbing into a tub or shower to work on it.
