New Hampshire Marble

Cleaning Information

Keeping the product clean is very easy. Any non-abrasive cleaning product will keep the cultured marble product clean, and shiny. Abrasive products may ruin the finish on glossy products.

  • On products with matted surfaces mild abrasives can be used occasionally to mask any minor wear and tear. Avoid using polishes on these matted surfaces.
  • We recommend Gel-Gloss once in a while (2 to 3 times a year) to keep your product shiny. Using this product too much may cause a waxy build-up, dulling the finish.

  • Without a direct flame cultured marble will not support cumbustion. However you never want to leave a cigarette or another burning object on the surface of your cultured marble product because it may scorch the gel-coat. This is the shiny layer that protects the matrix of the product. The scorch mark is almost impossible to remove without extensive patching.

  • Do not cut anything on the finished side of your product since this may damage the product beyond repair. Light scratches or scuffs can be removed by very lightly sanding the affected area with 2000 grit wet sand paper, and then buffing with automotive polish and a soft, clean rag. Be careful not to sand to hard, over sanding can remove too much gel-coat and leave a dip on the surface or an unprotected area.
